Kristen Sproat Biography

Kristen is a former Marine with extensive experience working in the US Department of Defense and with governments in the US and abroad. During her time in the Marines she deployed to Afghanistan, ran CENTCOM planning exercises in Bahrain and Jordan, and created a pioneering program to combat ISIS disinformation for the Iraqi military. She also spent time at Project Maven, the DoD’s first Algorithmic Warfare team, where she co-wrote the Artificial Intelligence Annex to the National Defense Strategy and orchestrated the design, funding, and stand-up of the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center.

At BCG Kristen has worked across the Middle East, South East Asia, and West Africa to support governments in their economic development goals and to create opportunities for private sector investment and local job growth. She also works with state and local US governments on reforming constituent services, designing equitable COVID-19 vaccine roll-outs, and identifying the most impactful ways to use the recent influx of federal stimulus funding for long-term reform and growth.
